FAQ
How is Sky Commander different?
Answer: There are quite a bit of electronic flight instruments in the marketplace but none that are equipped to be a complete all-in-one flight system made just for Controller-Pilot mission management, Pilot navigation and support team communications. All technologies are needed to coordinate a rescue operation or critical mission. Sky Commander combines all the essentials such as moving map, flight following, routing, and tracing, but also comes with additional command & control C2 to overcome some of the greatest problems for pilots, such as temporary obstacles. Sky Commander has a powerful "Obstacle Management" feature. And that's where the controller and pilot can define obstacles directly on a map. They can do this from anywhere using their PC with an internet connection. For instance, Sky Commander installed aboard an aircraft can receive an instant update with it's Iridium Satellite link. Sky commander will immediately update the moving map with the obstacle information. This way, the pilot is always updated of temporary obstacles that could cause accidents. Another powerful feature is "automatic-routing". Using this feature the Controller inputs the target address and transmits information such as heading directly to Sky Commanders front-end located in the cockpit. This way the pilot instantly sees the address location without having to manually input any data which can result in time delays due to wrong data entry.
How many components need to be installed for a FULL mission management system?
Answer: Gena Systems makes mission management hassle-free. With SKY COMMANDER you only need to install ONE component. Every module is built on ONE chassis. That's one of the main reasons SKY COMMANDER is so user-friendly. Plus, it's scalable. It is designed to be able to grow with your future needs.
